Jonathan Gordon
LMSW
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with a diverse background in education, emergency services, and individual therapy within healthcare settings.
I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and have experience working with a wide range of populations, from children to older adults.
I am dedicated to supporting individuals and families in crisis, as well as promoting crisis prevention. My clinical work focuses on treating depression, anxiety, substance use, co-occurring disorders, and relationship issues. I provide trauma-informed, client-centered care, meeting individuals where they are and empowering them to move toward meaningful change.
I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, a Strengths-Based Approach, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals. I am especially passionate about working with individuals facing unprocessed grief, childhood trauma, and complex adult life stressors.
I am a strong advocate for expanding access to mental health services across all communities, with a particular focus on vulnerable and underserved populations, including minorities, adolescents, men, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I am committed to walking alongside my clients throughout their mental health journeys, helping them build resilience, insight, and lasting coping skills.
